Where to stay in Sicily for hiking

Sicily it’s an amazing holiday destination not just for the white sand beaches and the turquoise Mediterranean water, but also for the food and the landscapes.

Sicily has indeed breathtaking views that can be admired with easy few hours hikes and the best place to stay to start exploring these trails is Palermo.

If you land in Palermo you can stay there for a few days, rent a car and reach different hiking trails that are only 1 or 2 hours away from the city.

The most popular hikes close to Palermo are in the Reserve dello Zingaro, a stunning natural reserve with picturesque landscapes that can be explored with a 2 hours hike one way, or 4 hours hike return.

Capo Gallo Reserve is another area for hiking close to Palermo. You can take the trail along the cost, that is 1 hour return, or attempt the more challenging hike up hills. These will take you about 4 or 5 hours return but trust me if I say that you don’t really wont to miss the view for the top!
