What to do in Kraków for free?

There are many activities that you can do in Krakow for free. Our favorite one is taking a stroll in the Old Town and explore the less touristic spots, pretending to be a local. But if you are looking for free sightseeing in Krakow you won’t be disappointment too: the Wawel Castle, the museum, the churches and the art galleries will keep you quite busy for a few days.

  • Explore the amazing Wawel Castle. The entrance usually require a ticket, but on Monday morning you can enter for free and see where and how Poland royalty once lived;
  • Take a walk in the narrow cobbled streets of the Old Town and Rynek Glawny;
  • If you like museums, we definitively recommend the Ethnographic Museum. Every Sunday all its sections are free to visit;
  • Watch out for Krakow’s colorful buskers, often performing on Rynel Glowny and the adjacent streets;
  • Enjoy the art galleries in Krakow and discover the Polish contemporary art, you will be surpised!
  • Admire the Lady with Ermine painting by Leonardo Da Vinci for free every Thursday at the Princess Czartorysli Museum;
  • Explore the city churches, all of which are free to visit, except for the chancel of the Basilica of the Assumption of Our Lady. The best chhurches and catedral in Krakow are:

  • Watch the clock in the courtyard at the Collegium Maius, go through its paces at 11am and 1pm daily;
  • Climb the Pilsusdky Mound in Las Wolski end enjoy the amazing view;
  • Catch a free concert, cultural Polish show or art exhibition around the center, check the program online.
  • If you like jazz music, we recommend to attend to one of the performance at Piec Art, every Wednesday at 8:30, the admission is free.
